A home-maker since 1989, married to Mr.Chandrasekaran, transformed into a psychologist & NGO founder. The loss of her brother in 1996 made her go for higher studies in psychology. She started to pursue M.Sc from Madras University & M.Phil from Presidency College & PhD from Women’s Christian college with her husband’s support. After she lost her brother she underwent stress, felt helpless and needed emotional guidance. That made her create a vision to have a resourceful centre wherein women’s issues can be addressed and resolved, providing a happy family. Yuvathi was born way back in 2001 in her mind, but took 16 yrs to manifest itself in reality. During these 16 years, she started her own private clinic and centre, Neha foundation where counseling and training services were provided.
It was established in 2005, when she shifted from royapettah to Chepauk. Her husband was very supportive and helpful for her to develop the centre by expanding the space and giving it a professional look. She also attended many other courses pertaining to her counseling profession thereby horning her professional skills. She had the opportunity to attend the Adler Summer Institute courses at Hitzkirch, Switzerland in 2012, August for 2 weeks. Then she came back and submitted her thesis for PhD in January 2013 after 3½ years of her research work in Women`s Christian college. Achieving a doctorate degree was one of her objective to enhance her skills and knowledge to become expertise in parenting. Then as a homemaker, she was involved in more spiritual activities to strengthen her personality. Her vision was always to create a society where women can be seen more as resourceful person than emotionally unstable. This was the time she met prasanthi, founder of AGANYA an NGO, who came out with the concept of mentoring mothers who are under stress. So she decided to collaborate with her, as she found her concept has the right platform to envision her dream. Thus Yuvathi was born. So she decided to refine herself in all ways intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. This journey was to see and create difference in many families, whereby working with women towards their emotional and mental health. A woman’s mental and emotional well-being is the crux for a happy family and for a very powerful society.
